Who are these young people?

Who are these young people?

And how did they get here?

Anniversary

Lots of love, hard work, and a healthy dose of commitment!  Happy 35th Anniversary hubby.  I love you more each day.

When not out celebrating, I was working hard on Forest Path and it paid off:

All the tiers are done and the border has commenced:

I thought the border was going to be a little fiddly, but once you get going, it’s pretty mindless and is going much faster than anticipated.  After only two evenings I am over halfway on the right border.  School work is really interfering with this project (to say nothing of working), but with any luck next week will bring FO status.  Hooray, hooray!

And just to show you that shopping at our local base commissary can be an enlightening experience:

Priceless!

  1. Congratulations on your 35th Anniversary, Dorothy! How great you both look, both then and now. Is your DH wearing a uniform in your wedding photo? Dave was in the Air Force when we got married 30+ years ago. Now to the incontinence thing: I don’t quite know what to say. Is this a sign of things to come? Your Forest Path is just exquisite. Lovely work. Truly a family heirloom. Hope you have a terrific weekend.

  2. 35 years! Congratulations. What fun to see the young picture and then the young at heart picture.

Think a spell checker “corrected” the sign with the wrong word? Hard to believe someone actually wrote it that way. Great laugh though.

  3. Congratulations! 35 years? Not easy … not easy indeed. I bet the wedding cake was yummy.
Congrats on the FPS too … you are getting really really close. That was exactly the same feeling I had about the border knitting …
I absolutely adore the afghan in your last post! Simply gorgeous.

  4. Congratulations on the anniversary! 35 years doesn’t just happen. You both look just as in love now as you did then.
And I didn’t know rice prevented incontinence. You learn something every day.

  5. What lovely pictures of a happy couple, Congratulations to you both! Happy Anniversary!

Your FPS looks great Dorothy, you’re finally close to the finish line, WOOT!!

I think the fact that some knucklehead LAMINATED the sign without noticing the typo is even more hilarious than the typo itself 🙂

  6. Congratulations and best wishes.

Forest Path is lovely, and it was worth the effort.

I had an editor friend who used to collect mistakes like the one you photographed. In the same spirit, one she found in a math book was: The theory of runs is very messy.

  7. I love your “then” and “now” pictures! Happy anniversary to both of you!
The Forest Path Stole is beautiful lace knitting – I can’t wait to see it all done!
